As I was writing up my LGBTQIA+ release series, I found myself wondering what inspiration was behind these books and if the authors of our favourites could recommend any other books, what would they be? So, I went ahead and contacted some authors and I was lucky enough to hear back from them. First off, we have Diana Pinguicha who is the author of A Curse of Roses, a Portuguese historical fantasy that will be released in December of this year! As this book features a f/f romance, I asked Diana to recommend some of her favourite books also featuring an sapphic romance and some reasons why. So without further ado, here are Diana’s recommendations –Continue reading “Authors Recommend Their Favourite LGBTQIA+ Reads | Part I – Diana Pinguicha”

So with Pride fast approaching, I have been wracking my brain on how I can celebrate the month and I thought what better than to find even more of an excuse to read some diverse books. First and foremost, I’m going to apologise for my absence from the blog lately. With everything going on in the world, I wasn’t in the right mind space to produce posts I was proud of and that readers would enjoy. However, if there is one thing we can do now, it’s reading, especially some diverse books and authors. This series has got so much love and support and I am still astonished that I can now give you a seventh part! As always, these are in order of release (some already released of course), are all standalones or start-of-series and if I have got any information incorrect, please let me know in the comments! But most importantly, I hope you find a new favourite and stay safe. Continue reading “2020 LGBTQ+ RELEASES PART VII”
Thank you to Hodder for sending us copies in exchange for an honest review.
Where Nirrim lives, crime abounds, a harsh tribunal rules, and society’s pleasures are reserved for the High Kith. Life in the Ward is grim and punishing. People of her low status are forbidden from sampling sweets or wearing colors. You either follow the rules, or pay a tithe and suffer the consequences.
Nirrim keeps her head down and a dangerous secret close to her chest.
But then she encounters Sid, a rakish traveler from far away who whispers rumors that the High Caste possesses magic. Sid tempts Nirrim to seek that magic for herself. But to do that, Nirrim must surrender her old life. She must place her trust in this sly stranger who asks, above all, not to be trusted.
Set in the world of the New York Times–bestselling Winner’s Trilogy, beloved author Marie Rutkoski returns with an epic LGBTQ romantic fantasy about learning to free ourselves from the lies others tell us—and the lies we tell ourselves.
As I write the sixth part of this series, I am already seeing even more books being released this year with LBGTQ+ characters. It just continues to blow my mind that after struggling over the years to find books with this much representation, we are now being blessed by them from all angles. It makes me feel optimistic for the future in publishing and reading and I hope when I do this again in 2021, the list is even longer! I also want to thank all the people helping me over on Twitter by linking some of these books. You are all appreciated! Of course as we are already into the second month of 2020, some of these books have already been released so make sure to check out the release date in bold!
As always, these are in order of release and if I have any information about the books wrong, please let me know in the comments! I also have a lot more books, featuring a lot more identities, written down and will add them as soon as covers are revealed! I hope, as always, you find something you love – and more importantly, a character you can see yourselves in. Continue reading “2020 LGBTQ+ RELEASES PART V”
In a post-apocalyptic America, a community survives in a national park, surrounded by water that keeps the Dead at bay. But when winter comes, there’s nothing to stop them from crossing the ice.
Then homebody Peter puts the camp in danger by naively allowing a stranger to come ashore and he’s forced to leave the community of Wranglestone. Now he must help rancher Cooper, the boy he’s always watched from afar, herd the Dead from their shores before the lake freezes over.
But as love blossoms, a dark discovery reveals the sanctuary’s secret past. One that forces the pair to question everything they’ve ever known.
Thank you to Stripes Publishing for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Continue reading “Wranglestone by Darren Charlton Spoiler-Free Review”
In light of recent events with a certain author who will not be named, it’s important that as a book blogger, I shout about some books written by trans and non-binary authors. As I have a long list, I’ve decided to split each post into nine books. Here is a mix of YA, fantasy, sci-fi and contemporary (all released) and I hope you find something you like. Make sure to head over to the author’s social medias and show them some love and support! Continue reading “Books Written by Trans & Non-Binary Authors Part I”
In a shocking turn of events, I am already able to compile a list of another 20 books released in 2020 with LGBTQ+ characters! I didn’t expect to be able to find another bunch in such a short amount of time but authors and publishers are pulling it out of the bag for the new year. A huge thank you to @hrngrystrs over on Twitter for letting me know of a few more books to add! This list has a nice mixture of middle-grade, graphic novels, anthologies, YA and adult so something for everyone! Continue reading “2020 LGBTQ+ RELEASES PART IV”
