Favourite Books In My Collection | Part II

Hi guys!

So after Angharad recently shared her favourite books from her collection, I thought it was about time I shared mine too. I have so many certain editions of books that are really special to me that it was hard to narrow it down, so I decided to mostly choose collectors or special editions for this post.

The Near Witch by V. E. Schwab (Forbidden Planet edition)

I ended up with three different copies of The Near Witch upon its rerelease – the standard UK hardback, the B&N edition, and this signed Forbidden Planet edition. I adore the colours on this one and think the moody palette definitely suits the story!

Uprooted by Naomi Novik

This first edition hardback of Uprooted has become so impossible to hunt down and I’m so glad I was able to find a copy! This is a fantasy novel that’s so close to my heart and definitely changed my tastes.

Deathless by Catherynne M. Valente

I have, I think, four different editions of Deathless and I love them all for different reasons. However, the UK hardback has to be a favourite. Look at the foiling on the firebird and the way it stretches all the way around the dust jacket!

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas (UK Collectors Edition)

I adore the design for the Throne of Glass collectors edition and I’m so excited to get my hands on the ACOTAR collectors edition when it’s released (yes, if you’ve not realised by now, I’m basically just trash for collecting different editions of the same books). Again though, THAT FOILING!

The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon (Goldsboro Edition)

After being sent an ARC of Priory last year and devouring it, I had to get my hands on this orange sprayed edge edition from Goldsboro. This is one of those books I essentially will not let anyone touch because I’m too protective over it.

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo (UK Collectors Edition)

Angharad shared her collectors edition of Six of Crows in her post, which is also a favourite of mine, so it only felt right that I shared the recently released Crooked Kingdom collectors edition! These two go together so well, plus this one has gorgeous character artwork in the back.

Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart (Fairyloot Edition)

I remember loving the design of this book as soon as it arrived – both on the dust jacket, which is a hardback version of the standard UK paperback design, and underneath it on the book itself. I think it fits so well with the story and although I unfortunately didn’t enjoy Queen of Ruin, this remains a firm favourite in my collection!

Les Misérables by Victor Hugo (Penguin Classics Edition)

Finally, I had to choose this Penguin classics edition of Les Misérables. Although I’m still yet to read this, the musical is my all time favourite, and I’m looking forward to finding the time to properly sit down and start this.

As Angharad said in her first post, we’ll definitely be sharing more of our favourite books as our collections grow, and I’d love to share the ones that are special to me for sentimental reasons, no matter how battered some of them may be now! Do you have any of these editions or special editions of books you cherish?

  1. All of these books are gorgeous! I have beautiful editions of Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit that I cherish, and I’ve recently started collecting signed books. I’m getting a signed copy of Queen of Nothing in the mail when it comes out!
